Airtrace Sheet Metal Ltd have a great opportunity for a Full Time – Plasma Machine Operator to join our successful, fast-paced team. We are looking for a hardworking, reliable individual to operate our plasma machine. The position is a trainee role starting at minimum wage for your age which can continue to increase as you develop your new skills, with Airtrace support of on-the-job training.

Airtrace Sheet Metal are one of the UK's largest manufacturers of supply-only sheet metal ductwork. From our substantial manufacturing plant in East Sussex, we supply ductwork to contractors needing high-quality ductwork at a competitive price, with a fast turnaround. We specialise in the fabrication of sheet metal and ductwork for the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning industry, manufacturing to the highest standards.

Working Hours:

The position is working Monday to Friday and 1 in 4 Saturdays, on our late shift (4.00pm – 1.00am). Paid at a rate of time and a quarter due to some hours being unsociable.

Responsibilities:

  • Learning the skills needed to become a Plasma Machine Operator.
  • Operating various machinery including CNC plasma cutters.
  • Working as a team and helping skilled fabricators with tasks at hand.
  • General workshop duties inc. guillotine cutting sheet metal.
  • Working with other skilled staff members and learning from them, with on the job training.
  • Assist the Distribution Coordinator to load delivery vehicles.
  • Adhering to Health & Safety Regulations.

Requirements:

  • Attention to detail to ensure quality.
  • Ability to follow Health and Safety regulations.
  • Teamwork.
  • Accurate measuring ability.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Experience of using a tape measure and other measuring devices.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in maths preferred but not essential.
