Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in fabrication, materials handling, and assembly processes. The position is paid and involves working in a dynamic environment focused on precision and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machinery, including milling and other fabrication equipment
  • Programme CNC machines using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other relevant tools
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production according to specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of CNC equipment
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently, ensuring proper storage and movement within the workspace
  • Utilise hand tools and tooling to assist with machine setup and minor adjustments
  • Conduct quality checks on finished parts to verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Maintain a clean, organised work area adhering to health and safety standards
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks when required, including welding or other fabrication processes

Requirements

  • Proven experience in fabrication, milling, or machining environments
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CNC programming software such as SolidWorks or CAD systems
  • Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of tooling, materials handling, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Familiarity with welding, assembly, and the use of hand tools is advantageous
  • Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience is desirable
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
