Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a HR Projects and Data Manager to join our growing team in Newcastle
What you'll be doing
Data Management and Governance:
- Create a HR data strategy with associated audit and change processes to ensure data is accurately maintained and responsibilities are understood by key stakeholders.
- Ensure ongoing data accuracy, integrity, and security across the HR systems landscape.
- Build relationships within the HR team and wider stakeholder groups to ensure data and system impacts are considered as part of any change activity.
- Work with other departments to ensure clear governance guidelines are in place around the use of HR data and compliance with GDPR.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage HR projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, advising on maximising the utilisation of technology to drive solutions, benefits and deliverables.
- Keep up to date with changes to technology benefiting HR, consider opportunities for utilisation and help drive adoption through projects and process efficiency activities.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Manage change effectively to ensure new ways of working land well and benefits are realised.
Process Improvement:
- Evaluate existing HR processes and how utilisation of technology can drive opportunities for improvement.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and tools to support HR initiatives.
- Implement best practices to streamline HR operations and enhance efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between HR, IT, and other departments to ensure alignment of data management and project goals.
- Provide training and support to HR team members on data management tools, new technology and best practices.
- Facilitate regular meetings and communication with project stakeholders.
Who we're looking for
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics, IT or a related field is desirable.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is desirable.
Previous Experience:
- Proven experience of successfully delivering projects within a governance framework with an understanding of project management methodologies.
- Experience in using technology to identify solutions to problems and implementing change.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools and HRIS systems.
- Experience of process re-engineering and landing change initiatives within a business context.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Keen interest and understanding of new developing technologies (eg. Microsoft CoPilot, ChatGBT etc) and how these can support the ongoing digital transformation of the HR function.
- Knowledge of GDPR legislation and its application to HR people data and structures.
- Ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately, and cope well with a fast-paced environment, managing a dynamic workload with changing priorities
