Purpose of the Role This role works closely with the Planning and Production teams to ensure smooth flow of materials and efficient dispatch of finished goods.

To lead the warehouse team and oversee all warehouse and logistics operations including inbound, storage, picking, dispatch, stock accuracy, and goods handling. Responsible for ensuring compliance, efficiency, and high standards of safety and product care across raw materials and finished goods. This is very much a hands on role. you will be a key part of our implementation of barcode scanning and Warehouse management system so experience in this is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage and lead the warehouse team across goods-in, stock, and dispatch functions
  • Plan, allocate, and adjust labour to meet production and delivery needs
  • Ensure accurate time and attendance records for the team and that all hours are recorded and authorised correctly
  • Lead daily briefings and support individual development and training plans
  • Manage holiday requests, absence, and performance issues professionally

Performance & Reporting

  • Manages the outload plan in conjunction with Planning to ensure timely and accurate dispatch
  • Liaise closely with Procurement to ensure optimum stock levels are maintained
  • Maintain accurate stock control and ensure regular stock counts are completed
  • Responsible for stock take accuracy and ensuring the Sage system reflects live, accurate inventory at all times
  • Own weekly and monthly warehouse KPIs (stock accuracy, order fulfilment, stock loss, etc.)
  • Liaise with Production, Planning, and Transport to ensure materials and dispatch alignment
  • Prepare regular reports and updates for internal use and audits

Training & Development

  • Ensure warehouse staff are trained to required levels including FLT, manual handling, and systems
  • Identify skills gaps and deliver or arrange appropriate upskilling
  • Maintain an up-to-date training matrix for all warehouse team members

Warehouse Standards & Stock Management

  • Ensure that lighting equipment is in good working order and appropriate to support safe and effective working conditions for the team
  • Ensure the coldstore is managed effectively, with product integrity, safety, and space utilisation optimised
  • Ensure all raw materials and finished goods are stored safely and securely
  • Oversee booking in, labelling, stock rotation, and order picking accuracy
  • Maintain a clean, organised warehouse environment
  • Ensure accurate completion of all warehouse documentation and records

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times
  • Conduct and document warehouse risk assessments
  • Enforce proper use of PPE and manual handling procedures
  • Lead by example in warehouse safety standards and compliance
  • Maintain readiness for internal and external audits

Entry Criteria

  • Proven warehouse management or team leader experience in FMCG or manufacturing
  • Experience in operators licence is desirable although not essential
  • Strong understanding of food safety, traceability, and stock control principles
  • Experience using warehouse systems and ERP platforms
  • FLT licence preferred; manual handling certified
  • Positive, hands-on leader with attention to detail and discipline

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £36,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
