Participate in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of a range of training events and services to meet the needs of MCLA client groups internally and externally. Deliver training in a variety of settings, including face to face and on-line, using specialist skills to adapt learning and facilitation accordingly. Deliver specialist knowledge to a range of colleagues which support the strategic development of high-quality communication skills informed by national policy and recent research. Provide expert support to workforce colleagues, to proactively identify specialist training needs and opportunities for all Christie staff.
Develop strategies and new, innovative modes of delivery to meet the needs of all stakeholders, including hard to reach groups. Facilitate groups and individual sessions which require highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to challenge a range of colleagues including senior staff. Deliver facilitation skills / teach the teacher training courses and provide expert advice and support to associate facilitators as appropriate, being a source of specialist advocacy and learning. Deliver specialist training courses to complex and challenging groups, which can include highly emotive and distressing subjects and reactions.
Following up and debriefing. Have a proactive approach to the development of new business opportunities, working alongside the Senior Maguire Trainer and Education Business Manager to develop business cases and quotations. Design and develop evidence-based tools for evaluation, audit and research in relation to all aspects of the training programme. Identify opportunities for dissemination of output, including publication in peer reviewed journals and presentations and high-profile conferences.
Maintain knowledge of current research and development in the field of communication skills training. Analyse evaluation data, research, national policies and guidelines and theoretical developments and recommend options for developing and improving Maguire programmes, practices and services accordingly. Represent the Maguire at meetings and events, when required. This can include presentation to large groups and conferences to represent the strategy of the team.
Contribute to the development of the MCLA profile by identifying opportunities for collaboration, publication and marketing. Communicate and support members of the MCLA team and liaise with relevant staff from the trust and network on a range of matters. Contribute to improving quality and supporting equality and diversity, adapting content to meet the needs of different stakeholders. Have an informed understanding of specialist communication needs which supports local and international markets.
Assist in maintaining own and others health, safety and security. Any other duties as may be required from time to time and which are commensurate with the grade of the post. Be involved in the appropriate recruitment of candidates to specialist courses. Work alongside the Senior Trainer in the development of a cadre of specialist trainers which supports the service requirements of the Christie.
PersonalParticipate in the performance review process and annual personal development plan to enable achievement of objectives and management of learning needs. Attend relevant mandatory updates. Be aware of relevant Trust policies and procedures and work within them. Manage time effectively and efficiently.

(but not limited to) the use of energy consumed in work spaces (heat/light/paper consumed) and to recycle consumable products wherever possible using appropriate facilities. FLU VACCINATIONAll Trust staff must take part in the Trusts annual flu vaccination programme and ensure they receive the influenza vaccination on an annual basis.
