Job Summary We are looking for a highly experienced and committed communication skills trainer to deliver our suite of communication, leadership and interpersonal skills training. You will be enthusiastic, creative and keen to offer flexible and innovative modes of delivery to meet the needs of health professionals in an ever‑changing and pressurised environment. Responsibilities Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate a range of training events and services for internal and external client groups. Deliver training in face‑to‑face and online settings, adapting learning and facilitation methods as required. Provide specialist knowledge and advice to workforce and HR colleagues to identify training needs and opportunities for staff at all levels. Advise external commissioners and organisations informed by national policy and recent research. Collaborate with the Senior Trainer / academy lead and Events team to develop strategies and innovative modes of delivery for all stakeholders. Facilitate communication and leadership skills courses, including giving feedback to senior healthcare professionals. Deliver teacher‑training courses, mentor associate facilitators, and support their professional development. Lead specialist training courses for complex groups, manage emotional reactions, follow‑up and debrief. Assist in developing business cases and quotations with the Senior Trainer and Education Business Manager. Design and evaluate evidence‑based tools for audit and research, and disseminate findings through publications and conferences. Analyse evaluation data and research to recommend improvements to programmes. Represent the training team at meetings and events. Contribute to the development of the MCLA profile and marketing opportunities. Support equality and diversity initiatives by adapting content to diverse stakeholder needs. Maintain own and others’ health, safety and security. Participate in recruitment of candidates for specialist courses and support the development of future trainers. Advanced Communication Skills Facilitator accreditation. Post‑graduate teaching qualification. Facilitating Advanced Communication Skills Training. At least 2 years in a senior health or social care role. Direct patient care experience. Facilitating training in classroom and virtual environments. Working with multi‑professional groups. Managing training events and projects. Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to deliver training using experiential and interactive methods. Capability to give sensitive feedback to senior colleagues. Ability to manage complex group dynamics. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Ability to work as part of a team. Demonstrated commitment to the organisation’s values. Desirable Attendance on Maguire Train the Trainers course. Qualification in clinical or counselling supervision, or coaching. Delivering Train the Trainer courses in communication or related field. Experience with experiential teaching methods. Conducting training needs analysis. Giving and receiving feedback for practice development. Experience designing learning materials for adults. Research and evaluation skills in communication skills training. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning platforms (e.g., Zoom). Experience with e‑learning resources and web sites. Technological skill to enhance teaching techniques. Willingness to undertake occasional travel with overnight stays.
