Kitchen Support Staff & Nursery Assistant (9 AM - 3 PM)

We are looking for a warm, reliable, and proactive individual to join our nursery team as a Kitchen Support Staff & Nursery Assistant. This varied role involves supporting our chef with daily kitchen tasks, preparing snacks, and ensuring a clean, well-organised environment, while also assisting with general duties related to caring for the children.

Key Responsibilities:

Kitchen & Snack Support

  • Assist the chef with the preparation and cooking of lunch.
  • Prepare and serve daily snacks in a safe and hygienic manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, including tidying, washing up, and ensuring food preparation spaces meet hygiene standards.
  • Help set up and clear away after meals and snacks.

Nursery Support Duties

  • Support staff with general childcare duties throughout the day.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the children.
  • Assist with routines such as handwashing, transitions, and tidying up the room.
  • Contribute to positive interactions, supporting children's wellbeing and daily experiences.

What We're Looking For:

  • A friendly and nurturing approach with a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • A team player who is reliable, punctual, and proactive.
  • Experience working in a food related role or childcare setting.
  • DBS Certificate (or willingness to apply prior to starting the role)
  • Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety (training will be provided, nursery funded).

Hours & Contract:

  • Part-time, Monday to Thursday, 9 am – 3 pm.
  • Additional bank hours as required.
  • Salary £25,396 pro-rata (NMW based on hours worked)
