Neurodevelopmental Mental Health Practitioner Neurodevelopmental Pathway
The CAMHS Neurodevelopmental (ND) Pathway are seeking an experienced Mental Heath Practitioner (MHP) to join our diverse and innovative multi-disciplinary team to provide ADHD and Autism assessments for young people. Applications from a range of professions including Allied Health professionals, social work, nursing, medical and psychology are welcome.

The post holder will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, undertaking responsibility for ND assessment and diagnosis . The MHP will work in a variety of settings, working closely with Paediatricians, SALTs and liaising with CAMHS colleagues for selected cases to support an integrated delivery of quality care. They will manage their own caseload but will also supervise and assist the ongoing development of the other team members.

As a band 7 MHP you would need to have experience in working with young people who are diagnosed as having ADHD or as being autistic and being experienced in assessing for autism and ADHD. You will also need to have understanding of mental health conditions and have experience in mental health assessment.

The applicant will bring significant experience of working autonomously within a multiagency arena. Staff development is a priority & opportunity to build upon skills & knowledge that will enhance service provision is actively encouraged.

Working hours will be mainly Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
Please note that this role requires a full UK Driving Licence and access to a car during working hours.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties And Responsibilities)
Main duties of the job

  • As a MHP the post holder will undertake the assessment and diagnosis of CYP within neurodevelopmental services.
  • The post holder will work within the outpatient service, undertaking initial assessments of new referrals alongside MDT colleagues, plus co-working with colleagues within the MDT as required.
  • As a senior clinician provision of clinical supervision and line management of staff will also be undertaken in accordance with NMC and trust policies.
