6-12m FTC (potentially perm)

Hybrid Working

Reports to:
Executive Director of Finance and Operations

Direct Reports:
None (may supervise administrator informally and liaise with IT support informally)

Purpose:

Ensure the delivery of core finance and operations functions, promoting the smooth day-to-day operation of the charity's back office while adhering to key policies. This ensures that systems, compliance, and infrastructure effectively support the charity's program delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial records and reporting in Xero; including budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
  • Coordinate outsourced payroll, maintain HR records and benefits administration
  • Liaise with IT support providers to ensure systems are functioning securely and efficiently
  • Maintain compliance registers (GDPR, contracts, insurance, policies) and ensure data protection compliance
  • Support investment reporting and pension scheme administration under guidance
  • Support legal compliance including contract management
  • Prepare materials for trustee meetings and operational reporting
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and support continuous improvement
  • Assist with audit preparation and execution

Person Specification

  • Qualification: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
  • Knowledge: Charity finance basics, GDPR, payroll processes
  • Skills: Financial reporting, process management, IT troubleshooting
  • Qualities: Detail-oriented, proactive, reliable, good communicator, team-oriented and organised
