Finance Manager | Fast-Growth Edtech Platform | London / Hybrid

Harmonic are partnered with a London-based edtech platform in their search for a Finance Manager to join their Central London team.

Operating at the intersection of technology and healthcare, their mission is to deliver world-class learning experiences through a blend of digital innovation and in-person expertise. Having recently secured significant private equity investment, they have ambitious plans for accelerated growth and continued international expansion.

You'll join a dynamic, fast-growth, scale-up environment where employee well-being and cross-departmental collaboration have been central to the company's success. They offer a modern office in Central London, complemented by flexible hybrid working arrangements.

The Role:

Reporting to the CEO/CFO, you'll oversee all aspects of the accounting function and strengthen the finance team, ensuring robust reporting, controls, and operational processes across an international business. You will also partner with non-finance teams on budgets and lead financial planning & analysis to support the company's strategic direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses, providing insights into revenue, deferred income, and cost control.
  • Track performance against KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare management accounts and reporting packs for board review.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (FRS 102 / IFRS) and assist with UK and international statutory filings.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and tax requirements.
  • Oversee accounts receivable: raise invoices, monitor collections, and work with sales and operations to manage debtors.
  • Manage accounts payable: process supplier invoices, prepare payment runs, and maintain accurate creditor records.
  • Maintain effective controls and reconciliations to support strong working capital management.
  • Support integration and enhancement of financial systems (Xero, CRM, LMS, etc.) to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and processes while identifying and implementing automation opportunities.
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
  • Assist with international subsidiaries (UK, US, AU, UAE) to ensure compliance and alignment with group reporting standards.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience
  • Strong Excel, Xero, and Power BI / data visualisation skills
  • Adaptable to new accounting software and systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency environments
  • Experience in a VC/PE-backed business or high-growth SME environment

Salary:
£60,000 - £75,000

Location:
Central London (2-3 days in office per week)
