The Role:

Our Stockport office is looking for a motivated Trainee Accountant who is currently studying AAT Level 3 or Level 4 (or equivalent). This position is ideal for someone who already has experience in an accountancy practice and is ready to build on that foundation in a supportive environment.

You will be working closely with experienced colleagues on a variety of client work, gaining hands-on experience and strengthening both your technical and client-facing skills as you progress through your studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Assisting with tax returns and VAT filings
  • Handling bookkeeping tasks and completing account reconciliations
  • Supporting payroll processes
  • Communicating with clients and preparing financial documents
  • Using cloud-based accounting systems along with Microsoft Office tools

What We're Looking For:

  • 1–2 years' experience within an accountancy practice
  • Currently studying AAT Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent)
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive, organised approach
  • Confident communicator and team player
  • A driving licence and access to a car is preferred
