Trainee Accountant

About Us

We are a privately-owned accountancy practice based in Glossop Town Centre, supporting clients across a wide range of industries. As the practice continues to grow, we are looking for a Trainee Accountant to join our team.

The Role

The position involves supporting the team with day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks. You will gradually take on more responsibility as your skills develop, with full training provided throughout.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with bookkeeping and data entry
• Helping prepare VAT returns and basic accounts
• Maintaining organised client records and documentation
• Communicating with clients by phone and email in a professional manner
• Learning to use accounting software and internal systems
• General administrative support as required

Required Skills & Attributes

• GCSE Maths Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
• GCSE English Language Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
• Good computer literacy
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Reliable, organised and able to prioritise tasks
• Genuine interest in developing a career in accountancy

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Part-qualified or currently studying AAT
• Previous office or administrative experience
• Confidence working with numbers or spreadsheets
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles
• Familiarity with accounting or finance software
