As Continuous Improvement Manager for GTS, you will lead structured initiatives to enhance train performance, reliability, and service delivery across one of the UK's most complex and high-profile rail operations. What You Will Do:

As a Continuous Improvement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing train performance, reliability, and service delivery across a complex and high-profile UK rail operation. The role demands strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of Lean methodologies, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable improvements. You'll work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify inefficiencies, implement sustainable solutions, and embed improvements into daily operations.

  • Lead and manage structured initiatives to improve train performance, reliability, and service delivery.

  • Use Lean methodologies to analyze processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement sustainable solutions.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet performance targets.

  • Facilitate workshops and improvement events (e.g., Root Cause Analysis, Value Mapping) to promote problem-solving and innovation.

  • Develop and execute performance improvement plans aligned with business goals and operational strategies.

  • Track, measure, and report outcomes of improvement initiatives, ensuring benefits are embedded into standard procedures.

  • Identify and escalate risks or barriers to progress, and proactively resolve issues to maintain momentum.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational and performance data to uncover trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.

What We Are Looking For:

We're seeking a someone with a passion for operational excellence and a track record of driving meaningful change. You'll bring:

  • Broad understanding of performance improvement and project management methodologies.

  • Experience in rail or transport operations, ideally within a performance or service delivery context.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher (desirable).

  • Advanced knowledge and practical application of continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

  • Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in complex operational environments.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple levels and functions.

  • Effective leadership with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on performance data.

  • Ability to lead change and inspire teams.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align initiatives with broader business goals.

  • Clear, confident, and effective communicator.

  • Skilled in building strong collaborative relationships across teams and stakeholders.

  • Takes initiative and ownership to drive results and ensure accountability.
