  • We are a coveted 4star hotel based in the heart of Sherwood Forest. The business is managed as a boutique property with 12 beautiful and exquisite rooms alongside an old world charm pub and restaurant. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Front House/ Bar Manager to oversee all daily operations of the Hotel including the bar & restaurant. This role requires a strong leader to ensure high-quality service, maintain a clean and inviting atmosphere, and manage staff and inventory effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment and a talent for multitasking. The role will entail managing the bar, skilled in cellar operations & the front of the house handling reservations and customer service issues.

As a key member of our hospitality environment, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our patrons while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess strong time management skills and a passion for the hotel industry, with a focus on delivering high-quality customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

  • Staff management: Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising front-of-house staff. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment. Supervise daily performance, provide ongoing training, and address staff concerns promptly
  • Customer service: Ensuring a welcoming environment, handling guest complaints and requests, and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction. Uphold the highest standards of hospitality, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere for all guests
  • Operations management: Oversee all aspects of daily bar operations, ensuring a high standard of quality, service, and cleanliness. Overseeing & managing daily room reservations, and ensuring all areas are clean, accessible, and well-maintained. Develop and update beverage menus, including creating new cocktails. Skilled in Cellar management & knowledge of cleaning beer lines
  • Financial and administrative tasks: Assisting with or managing budgets, monitoring revenue, and handling administrative duties like reporting. Assist in restocking supplies and managing inventory levels to ensure smooth operations during shifts
  • Compliance and standards: Implementing and enforcing health, safety, and service standards to maintain a high-quality experience.
  • Communication: Facilitating communication between front-of-house and back-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a FOH/ BAR MANAGER or a similar role within the hospitality sector is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous to maintain health standards within the bar area.
  • Strong time management abilities to handle busy periods effectively while maintaining quality service.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members alike.
  • A genuine passion for the hospitality industry and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
