We are seeking an experienced and proactive Learning & Development Manager to design, deliver, and continuously improve learning activity across RVG. This role is central to building organisational and people capability, shaping development pathways, and embedding a culture of growth, performance, and talent retention.

You will work closely with teams, managers, and key stakeholders to understand capability needs, design effective learning solutions, and lead impactful L&D initiatives that directly support business performance.

This is an exciting opportunity for an L&D professional who thrives on impact, collaboration, and creating future-ready talent programmes.

This role is ideally full time; however, we would also consider candidates wishing to work 4 days per week.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Partnering
  • Provide strong business partnering support, advice, and guidance on all L&D matters.
  • Work collaboratively with teams, managers, and stakeholders to support capability and skill development across RVG.
  • Lead new L&D-related projects aligned to organisational priorities and objectives.
  • Develop, review, and maintain L&D policies and procedures.
  • Support the induction process for new starters.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, suppliers, and consultants.
Learning & Development
  • Lead L&D projects and initiatives that support organisational capability.
  • Promote and embed a coaching and mentoring culture.
  • Partner with the Head of HR in the annual Talent Review process.
  • Support the creation of individual development plans and succession plans for high-potential employees.
Training & Development
  • Assess capability and training needs across teams and departments.
  • Design and deliver high-quality training programmes (induction, leadership, personal development, and more).
  • Coordinate training schedules, venues, logistics, and attendance.
  • Select and manage external training providers as needed.
  • Develop and maintain the Annual Company Training Plan.
  • Evaluate L&D interventions, reporting on effectiveness, KPIs, and return on investment.
Compliance & LMS
  • Oversee all compliance learning and completion rates via the Learning Management System.
  • Maintain the Compliance Matrix and ensure annual reviews with stakeholders.
  • Fully own the management and upkeep of the LMS.
  • Design, develop, or procure digital learning content to meet business needs.
Talent Pathways & Career Development
  • Advise on professional and academic qualification pathways.
  • Develop and implement a Skills & Competency Framework for all roles.
  • Build clear career pathways for key roles across RVG.
  • Continuously refine and improve the induction and onboarding journey.
  • Own and maximise use of the Apprenticeship Levy.
Reporting & Budget
  • Produce monthly compliance reports and quarterly L&D KPIs for the board.
  • Support the Director of People & Change in planning and managing the training budget.

  • Customer-focused with excellent problem-solving capability.
  • Discreet, diplomatic, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Confident working autonomously or collaboratively.
  • Skilled at building credibility and delivering practical, impactful solutions.
Experience
  • 4–6 years' experience in Learning & Development.
  • Proven experience developing teams, managers, and talent pathways.
  • Experience across both large organisations and SMEs, with an understanding of scalability and agility.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and LMS platforms.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with the ability to travel across the UK as required (business mileage reimbursed).
