Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This position requires a strong commitment to early childhood education and the ability to engage with children in a meaningful way. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for supporting the development and well-being of children while promoting their learning through play.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and caregivers.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and any concerns that may arise.
  • Support the management team in maintaining nursery policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills.

Experience

  • Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
  • A background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications is highly desirable.
  • Strong management and leadership skills to guide junior staff members when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential for this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 33 per week
