Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills whilst making a positive impact on children's lives. The Nursery Practitioner will work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of childcare and education are maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and socialisation among children
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care at all times
  • Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children to explore and learn confidently
  • Support children's emotional and behavioural development through positive guidance and communication
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any concerns or incidents
  • Collaborate with colleagues to organise daily routines, including meal times, naps, and play sessions
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress and any relevant issues
  • Lead by example in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and organisation within the nursery setting
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff or interns as required

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
  • Strong management and leadership skills to guide team members effectively
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Childcare qualification (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent) is preferred
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies when necessary
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently

Pay: £22,222.50-£25,960.35 per year
