About the Role

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Brighton is seeking a committed Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team immediately.

In this full-time, term-time role, you'll provide classroom support, 1:1 assistance, and small-group interventions to help pupils—particularly those with mild to moderate SEN needs such as autism, ADHD and speech & language difficulties—make strong academic and social progress.

This position is ideal for an experienced LSA or a graduate eager to build a career in primary education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils across the primary curriculum in class and during activities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group learning support tailored to individual needs
  • Assist pupils with SEN needs to remain engaged, regulated and confident
  • Support behaviour and learning plans under guidance from the class teacher and SENCo
  • Encourage participation through positive, creative and inclusive strategies
  • Contribute to a safe, nurturing and well-structured classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Graduate (2:1+ preferred) or holder of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Early Years qualification
  • Experience supporting children with SEN (professional or personal)
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to different learning styles
  • Strong communicator with good initiative and a proactive attitude
  • A positive team player with a genuine passion for education and child development
