About the Role
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Brighton is seeking a committed Primary Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team immediately.
In this full-time, term-time position you will provide classroom support, 1:1 SEN support and small-group interventions to help pupils particularly those with autism, ADHD and speech & language needs make strong academic and social progress.
This role is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant, SEN LSA or a graduate looking to build a career in primary or SEN education.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils across the primary curriculum during lessons and activities
- Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions tailored to individual learning needs
- Help pupils with SEN remain engaged, regulated and confident
- Assist with EHCP targets, behaviour plans and learning strategies
- Encourage participation through positive, creative and inclusive approaches
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENCo and external professionals
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing and well-structured classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Graduate (2:1+ preferred) OR Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Early Years qualified
- Experience supporting children with SEN (professional or personal)
- Patient, empathetic, adaptable and confident supporting varied needs
- Strong communication, initiative and problem-solving skills
- A proactive team player with a genuine passion for child development

Requirements

- Previous school experience desirable but not essential
