The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced IT Technician to join our growing education support team. This is a field-based role, providing on-site IT support to schools throughout the Somerset area.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Conducting regular scheduled visits to schools
  • Responding to emergency call-outs
  • Providing expert advice and technical support in person and remotely

What You'll Need

We're looking for someone with strong technical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users. Experience working in an educational environment is essential.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in an IT support role within a school or education setting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS and safeguarding check

Technical Experience (any of the following beneficial):

  • Network Administration (VPNs, Ubiquiti WiFi, Firewalls, Switches)
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, SharePoint, Teams
  • JAMF or other Apple MDM solutions
  • Google Workspace, Chromebooks, Google Classroom (not essential but a bonus)
