Job Introduction
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? Join an "Outstanding" (Ofsted 2024) Authority and help our dedicated Assessment Team shape better outcomes for children and families.
We currently have a full-time post available on a fixed term basis within the Assessment Team, which is part of our established Front Door Service. Your primary base will be County Hall, Morpeth, with opportunities for hybrid working and flexible working across different sites in Northumberland.
Using the Signs of Safety model, Northumberland is a child- and family-focused authority with strong and effective management and leadership (as reported by Ofsted). Known for being supportive of staff and having a strong ethos of flexibility, working in Northumberland Children's Services is like having a second family (so say our staff).
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Social Worker to join our well-established Assessment Team, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality services to children and families at the point of referral and beyond. This will involve working in partnership with families and professionals to deliver child-centred, strengths-based support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Completing Child and Family Assessments
- Undertaking Section 47 Child Protection Enquiries
- Supporting Cared for Children up to their initial review
- Participating in the Duty Team rota linked to our effective Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
