Technical Project Manager

London, Greater London, United Kingdom PRO PMs Full time

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with deep DevOps expertise and proven Scrum Master capabilities to work alongside Data Team leads within a corporate re-insurance organisation. This role requires a hands-on technical PM who can lead delivery using agile methodologies whilst maintaining strong technical credibility with development and data engineering teams.

You will be supporting a data delivery function that provides ongoing reporting and analytics outputs to business stakeholders not a single monolithic data transformation project.

Must have the following:

  • Proven Technical Project Management experience with strong DevOps background
  • Demonstrated Scrum Master experience with practical agile delivery (not theoretical)
  • Strong Power BI skills with experience in data visualization and reporting projects
  • Excellent stakeholder management (client-facing) and communication skills with ability to work autonomously
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and technical delivery environments
  • Experience working alongside data teams and data engineering functions
  • Strong client-facing skills
  • Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision whilst maintaining strong team collaboration

Highly Desirable:

  • Re-insurance domain knowledge or familiarity
  • Experience with data platform or analytics project delivery
  • Background in financial services or regulated environments

This fast-paced environment requires someone who can bridge technical delivery with agile project management, maintaining pace whilst ensuring quality outcomes for data-focused initiatives. This is not a process-driven PM role, nor suitable for those without strong technical DevOps background. We are seeking a technical delivery leader who can work at pace with data teams whilst maintaining robust agile practices.

Please do not apply if:

  • You do not have strong DevOps and technical project management experience
  • You are a Scrum Master without broader project management capabilities
  • You have retail insurance background rather than corporate/re-insurance
  • You are seeking a traditional waterfall PM or PMO role

Location:
London area, optional onsite working as required

Day rate:
c. £550-575/day, outside IR35

Timing:
Start early next year, interviews ASAP

Important:

This is a part time engagement initially (3 days per week for the first month) before transitioning to Full time 5dpw delivery.
