Deputy Nursery Manager – Early Years Leadership Opportunity

Location: Plaistow, East London

Salary: £35,500 per annum + excellent benefits

Contract: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join a thriving nursery in Plaistow, East London. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Early Years professional to step into a senior leadership role, support a dedicated team, and help shape high-quality outcomes for children aged 0–5.

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Nursery Manager with both daily operations and long-term development of the setting. You will lead by example, champion best practice, and ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Early Years Practitioners.
  • Support the planning and delivery of a high-quality EYFS curriculum.
  • Ensure full compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents and carers.
  • Assist with rota planning, recruitment, inductions, and performance management.
  • Monitor occupancy and budgets in partnership with the Nursery Manager.
  • Promote a child-centred, inclusive culture that supports individual needs and development.

About You

We are looking for a confident and approachable Early Years leader who is committed to delivering excellent childcare and supporting team development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 4 or 5 desirable).
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a nursery setting.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding, and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
