Deputy Nursery Manager-£1000 Welcome Scheme Join our team as a Deputy Nursery Manager and enjoy a £1000 welcome bonus. The role is based at Little Green Rascals Children’s Day Nursery, Tadcaster Road, York. Pay Range Pay is £32,760 per annum (40 hours per week). Your actual salary will be based on skills and experience. Working Hours 38‑40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am‑6pm over 4 or 5 days. Responsibilities Lead and mentor the nursery team to deliver high‑quality early years education with pride and energy. Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing all aspects of nursery operations, ensuring consistency and quality. Act as a role‑model, fostering an environment of initiative, creativity, and high standards of care. Build strong partnerships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to promote collaboration and excellent outcomes for children. Monitor and guide the team’s implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging and nurturing learning opportunities. Take responsibility for the nursery in the Nursery Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth operations. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, providing constructive feedback and supporting professional development within your team. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that respects the unique needs of every child. About Our Nursery Our beautiful nursery is based in a three‑story Victorian townhouse, set back from the road and opposite the beautiful York Racecourse. Buses run frequently in and out of the city, with a bus stop directly outside the nursery. We also have ample parent parking available on site, with additional convenient parking options for staff located just a short distance from the nursery. One of the most popular aspects of our nursery is our Forest School, located just 10 minutes away in a peaceful woodland environment, offering children the chance to explore and learn in a dedicated outdoor classroom surrounded by nature. This is where our ethos comes to life and the children can engage in Forest School classes, planting organic fruit and vegetables which can be eaten once they’ve grown.
