About the Role
Job Advert: Stock Controller & Buyer – Window Manufacturing Company
Location: Unit 6 Centurion Business Park, Manningtree, Horsley Cross, CO11 2NZ
Hours: Monday – Friday / 7am – 5pm
Salary: £35k-£40k
Start Date: January 2026
You will be responsible for controlling stock across the warehouse, ensuring accurate records, and ordering all materials required for manufacturing and installation of windows. The ideal candidate will have experience in stock control or procurement, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with suppliers, production staff, and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate stock levels of profiles, hardware, and other materials.
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming deliveries.
- Organise and manage warehouse stock to ensure safe and efficient storage.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full stocktakes, resolving any discrepancies.
- Raise purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor production schedules and forecast material requirements.
- Address supplier issues such as late or incorrect deliveries.
- Ensure all materials meet required quality and certification standards.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in stock control, buying, or procurement (ideally in window, construction, or manufacturing sectors).
- Strong organisational and numerical skills.
- Good understanding of window manufacturing materials (PVC/aluminium profiles, hardware, etc.) – desirable but not essential.
- Confident negotiator with strong communication skills.
- Experience using inventory or ERP systems.
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift licence (preferred but not essential).
