Job Summary

We are looking for up to three enthusiastic, bilingual (candidates must speak Spanish) Club Assistants to form a vibrant team at our after school club, LingoClub, in Hove.

Shift times are pm Monday - Friday during term-time with variable school holiday shifts. We are willing to consider candidates who can't work every day of the week.

Together, you will part of delivering the best after school and holiday care in the area, maintaining highest standards of care, safeguarding and play-based learning. You'll deliver a range of activities, supervise children playing, and build positive relationships with each and every child in our care.

This club, based at the Bilingual Primary School, is an immersive Spanish setting, so candidates must have proficient spoken Spanish.

This is a hands-on role for childcare professionals who thrive in a team environment and want to make a real difference in children's lives.

Hours: After School & School Holidays

Team Working

  • Have a positive relationship with and support managers who oversee the day-to-day running of LingoClub.
  • Be a proactive member of a friendly team to deliver exceptional wraparound care.
  • Ensure consistency of standards, practice and ethos across the setting.
  • Build relationships with children contribute to us becoming the most trusted and respected childcare settings in the area.

Play and Activities

  • Deliver and evaluate engaging activities that promote play, creativity, wellbeing and inclusion.
  • Provide a fun, safe and nurturing environment for all children.
  • Encourage independence, teamwork and confidence through play.
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming club atmosphere at all times.

Safeguarding and Compliance

  • Commit to regular safeguarding training and be proactive in keeping our children safe in any way we can.
  • Assist managers by completing incident forms where necessary.
  • Be familiar with our risk assessments to ensure safe environments for children and staff.
  • Share best practice and manage diverse situations across settings.
  • Attend staff training sessions and engage with your colleagues to get the most out of them.

Desirable:

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Playwork, or a commitment to complete one.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Ability to understand and practice Ofsted requirements for wraparound care.

Essential

  • Excellent teamwork and work ethic.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
