Responsibilities

  • To undertake a range of portering and cleaning tasks at the direction of the Duty Chef
  • To undertake a range of food preparation tasks at the direction of the Duty Chef
  • To assist the Duty Chef in preparation of meals for service
  • To assist with maintaining all necessary hygiene in respect of food service operations
  • Cleaning, setting up & operating the dishwasher, ensuring it has sufficient chemicals for the day's operation
  • Washing/drying crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, cooking equipment, etc. to a high standard
  • Returning all cleaned items to their designated storage location ready for re-use
  • Cleaning the pot wash station & immediate surround
  • Sweeping & mopping the pot wash floor & surrounding area
  • Removing & disposing of pot wash food & other associated waste
  • Communicating with senior staff over pot wash supplies & chemicals to ensure there are always sufficient supplies for ongoing operation

THE ROLE

  • Is part-time

  • Carries a minimum 3-month probationary period

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Must be a minimum 16 years of age
  • Must have great organisational skills, be reliable, a good timekeeper, a team player, the ability to work under their own initiative & have pride in their work
