Responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients to support chefs and cooks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold high hygiene standards.
  • Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients according to recipes and instructions, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, storage guidelines, and sanitation practices.
  • Assist in serving meals efficiently during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery to customers or dining areas.
  • Help with food delivery and catering setups for special events or large orders, ensuring presentation meets quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies and ingredients, alerting supervisors when stock needs replenishing.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment for everyone in the kitchen.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
  • Basic knife skills and familiarity with cooking techniques are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration with chefs and fellow staff members.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Prior kitchen or culinary experience in the food industry is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates eager to develop their skills.
