About The Role

FDM is seeking a Business Data Analyst located in Bostonto support a project in the financialsector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 24 monthsbut may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 4 days per week.

We are looking for a Business Data Analyst to help execute our Investor & Client Data Renovation Project, supporting the VP, Investor & Client Data Owner. We are seeking a skilled and analytical Business Data Analyst to join our team. As a Business Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in gathering business requirements, documenting how client data flows across people/process/systems, analyzing complex datasets, deriving insights, and providing actionable recommendations to drive business growth and efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, identify trends, and develop data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, excellent communication skills, and a passion for turning data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis:

  • Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets from various sources to uncover insights and trends.
  • Develop and implement data models, algorithms, and statistical techniques to solve business problems.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.

Reporting and Visualization:

  • Create clear and compelling reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate key findings to stakeholders.
  • Design and maintain automated reporting systems to streamline data analysis processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and ensure data accuracy and relevance.

Business Insights:

  • Translate data insights into actionable recommendations to drive business decisions and strategies.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives and solve specific business problems.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement or optimization

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with stakeholders across departments to understand business needs and requirements.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, business users, and other team members to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams on data-related matters, including data interpretation and best practices.
About You

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of proven experience as a data analyst or related role, preferably in financial services.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Python, R, or similar.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
