Who We Need:

We are looking for experienced Joiner/carpenter with P&D skills or a Multi trade operative with particular focus on carpenters/joiners, painters, and builders to deliver projects and mentor/coach young volunteers.

You will have to be confident in teaching your skills. We are looking for someone whose hands-on expertise and professional insight will be vital in helping some of the most vulnerable young people in our society to build confidence, technical skills, and real-world knowledge.

This role is perfect for an enthusiastic and creative contractor who enjoys leading a team, supporting young people and communities.

The Role:

  • To Manage VIY community projects
  • Mentor and train young people in trade skills
  • Help young people work towards City & Guilds accreditation
  • Oversee site H&S supporting team and young people

Ideal Candidate:

Hands on multi trade experienced/qualifications, site management and H&S experience

Passion for mentoring young people with ability to motivate and support individuals (experience preferred but not essential)

Able to guide, support, and inspire the next generation of tradespeople

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements:

DBS check required (organised and paid for by VIY)

Responsibilities:

Ensure safety & safeguarding policies are followed

Work with Project manager on site audits/material lists and project delivery
