Overview

Our client, a government-affiliated organisation within the UK's energy sector, is seeking a
proactive and highly organised Office Manager
to oversee the day-to-day operations of its Warrington office. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth business operations, maintaining a safe and efficient workplace, and supporting a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

You will manage a busy office across two floors, coordinate with building management and other occupiers, and handle a broad range of administrative, logistical, and compliance responsibilities. This position requires excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, as well as a strong customer service mindset.

Please note that the successful candidate may be required to undergo
Security Check (SC) Clearance
in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all administrative and operational aspects of the Warrington office to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate office maintenance, supplies, and vendor relationships.
  • Manage staff onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Organise meetings, manage calendars, and support office and event logistics.
  • Manage security passes and building access for over 200 staff and guests, ensuring adherence to government security standards.
  • Oversee meeting room bookings and ensure compliance with booking policies.
  • Maintain effective relationships with building management and facilities teams to ensure office needs are met.
  • Monitor office budgets and handle basic financial administration.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, including oversight of fire warden and first aider provision.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in
    office management
    or senior administrative roles.
  • Strong organisational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in
    Microsoft Office Suite
    and other office management tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and oversee small projects.
  • Working knowledge of
    Health and Safety
    standards and practices.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (required).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent (desirable).
  • First Aid and/or Fire Warden certification (advantageous, or willingness to obtain).
