Customer Service Representative

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and personable Customer Service Representative to join our team at The Farewell Guide, a platform committed to bringing transparency and compassion to funeral planning. This role involves engaging with customers via various communication channels, providing exceptional service, and supporting our mission to make a positive difference during life's most challenging moments.

Flexible hours available (weekend and part-time), making this an excellent opportunity for working parents or students who want to contribute to meaningful work while developing their skills. After a training period, this role can become more flexible with the option to work from home.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries via phone, email, or live chat.
  • Accurately input and update customer data using data entry systems.
  • Provide detailed information about products and services, ensuring customer needs are met efficiently.
  • Work closely with our partners to discuss the best membership options for their needs, ensuring they receive the most suitable support.
  • Maintain high standards of phone etiquette and communication skills to foster positive relationships with clients.
  • Analyse customer feedback and issues to identify trends and suggest improvements.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve complex customer issues effectively.
  • Keep detailed records of interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints for future reference.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in customer service or a related role is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Happy to talk on the phone and not shy away from a conversation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional phone manner.
  • Ability to analyse information quickly and provide effective solutions.
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience with analysis tools or CRM systems is a plus but not mandatory.

After a training period the role can be more flexible and working from home.

This position starts as a contract role with the opportunity to transition into permanent employment based on performance and business needs.
