About the Role: SEN / SEND Tutor
This opportunity is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers passionate about providing 1:1 tutoring to children and young people with varying learning needs. Using a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approach, you will inspire engagement and positively transform their educational journeys.
Key Details of the Role
- Contract: 35–40 hours per week
- Responsibilities: Deliver Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs.
- Approach: Provide support through flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring tailored to each young person's unique needs.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop bespoke lesson plans that cater to individual learning requirements.
- Deliver engaging, holistic sessions to support both educational and social-emotional development.
- Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on the progress of each young person.
Requirements:
- Professional teaching qualifications (e.g., Qualified Teacher Status / QTS / QTLS).
- A minimum of two years' teaching experience.
- Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures.
- An enhanced DBS check.
- Two professional references.
- Residency and the right to work in the UK.
- A commitment to promoting the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people, with strict adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures.
