Female Support Worker – Urgently Required

Full-Time | Norwich Area | UK Driving Licence Essential

Do not apply if you have a Skilled Worker / Sponsorship Visa

Are you looking to join an established care team where your dedication will be valued? Do you want to work with an employer who supports your professional growth and recognises your hard work?

At Complexus Care, we deliver bespoke, person-centred, complex care that empowers independence through both clinical expertise and a holistic approach. Our clients have a range of complex needs, and we are committed to helping them live meaningful, independent lives within the community.

About the Role

We are recruiting a Female Support Worker to work with a young lady who is severely deaf and living with a spinal cord injury. She lives at home in the Norwich area with her boyfriend and enjoys regular family visits. Her interests include baking, crafts, therapies, and holidays – all of which you will be supporting.

You will provide 1:1 care, ensuring her personal care, welfare, rehabilitation, and communication needs are fully met. The role involves working on a rota basis, including days, nights, and weekends, as part of a close-knit and supportive team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting personal care and rehabilitation, including physiotherapy and hydrotherapy
  • Encouraging participation in activities and daily routines
  • Promoting independence while providing consistent motivation and positivity
  • Communicating effectively through lip reading or sign language

Hours of Work

  • 05:30 – 22:30 (full shift paid even if asked to start later or leave earlier to support client independence)
  • Rota covers weekdays and weekends (not every weekend)

Rates of Pay

  • Up to £17.50 per hour
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check required

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will be:

  • A confident communicator, able to engage with a severely deaf client (lip reading or sign language required)
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and caring, with a strong team player attitude
  • Flexible to meet rota requirements
  • A full UK driving licence holder
  • Non-smoker

Experience with spinal cord injuries, rehabilitation, or working with Deaf clients is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

In Return, We Offer

  • Excellent rates of pay
  • Paid holiday entitlement
  • Ongoing training and career development
  • Auto-enrolment pension scheme
  • Payment for e-learning and specialist training
  • Regular supervision with your line manager
  • Employee Assistance Programme (confidential 24-hour counselling and wellbeing support)

Join us and become part of a care team that truly makes a difference every day.

(This role is exempt under the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 Section 7(2)(ba) due to the requirements of a private household.)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £17.50 per hour

Benefits:

  • Company pension

Application question(s):

  • This role is full time at 36 hours per week. We do not offer Sponsorship or transferable Sponsorship visas therefore, the 20 hours per week granted on a Sponsorship would not meet the criteria required for this role.
