Quality Assurance Assistant

PURPOSE OF ROLE
To support and enhance the quality of adult education provision, ensuring compliance with Ofsted's new Framework, funding rules, and awarding body requirements. The role focuses on continuous improvement, robust quality assurance, and data-driven decision-making to maintain high standards across Skills Bootcamps and adult learning programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Conduct Observations of Teaching, Learning and Assessment (OTLAs) and provide constructive feedback to drive improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted's November 2025 Framework, DfE funding rules, and awarding organisation requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of Self-Assessment Reports (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plans (QIP).
Data Management & Reporting
- Analyse learner progress, achievement, and retention data to identify trends and inform improvement strategies.
- Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections, ensuring data integrity across MIS and reporting systems.
Continuous Improvement
- Apply business improvement tools and techniques to enhance teaching quality and learner outcomes.
- Promote a culture of best practice and continuous improvement across all programmes.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate quality strategies effectively to tutors, managers, and external partners.
- Support internal and external audits, including Ofsted inspections and awarding body reviews.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience in adult education quality assurance, including OTLAs and compliance with Ofsted Frameworks.
- Strong understanding of Adult Learning Frameworks and Skills Bootcamps.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting for quality improvement.
- Knowledge of SAR and QIP processes.
- Familiarity with malpractice/maladministration prevention and regulatory requirements.
Desirable Skills
- Python programming for data analysis and automation of quality reporting.
- Experience with digital dashboards or data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Streamlit).
- Understanding of ESFA funding compliance and audit requirements.

Qualification Pathway
This role is aligned with the Level 4 Quality Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard (ST0853), which includes:
- Knowledge of quality management principles, auditing, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Skills in data analysis, stakeholder communication, and structured problem-solving.
- Behaviours promoting best practice, customer focus, and professional development.
