Overview Quality assurance technician is a Monday to Friday job with duties that are vital to ensure quality is maintained in a highly regulated, food manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Work with the QA team to ensure sampling schedules are maintained, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation relating to product safety and legality and support maintenance of the company's accreditation results. Conduct internal audits to schedule, highlight any non‑conformances, investigate, and follow up on corrective actions to ensure satisfactory closure e.g. GMP audits, fabrication & glass & hard plastic audits. Mix and control solutions for testing, coordinate submission of samples to third party laboratories or customers and generate Certificates of Analysis for customers. Perform shelf‑life testing of raw materials and finished products as well as some laboratory testing of oils for the food and cosmetic industries using both traditional chemistry techniques e.g. titration and analytical equipment, maintain the upkeep of the laboratory, consumables, and equipment. Identify continuous improvement opportunities and coordinate workload to ensure all customers are supported and serviced in accordance with KPI requirements. Qualifications Previous experience working in Quality Assurance in a Manufacturing environment, ideally food based. Experience of working to an accredited quality standard such as BRCGS, ISO9001, or ISO22000. Ideally holding Level 2 HACCP, Level 2 Food Hygiene, and internal auditing qualifications. Good IT skills with particular focus on Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of factory processes, HACCP and quality systems, auditing processes, legal requirements, traceability systems, and audit trails.
