Farm Overview

• 200 Holstein Friesians
• Milked 2x a day through a 32-point Fullwood Parlour with ADF, auto ID and separation
• The herd block calve in the summer and average 10,000 Litres, Cubicle housed and TMR fed
• Technology such as Cow Manager and Uniform is available to assist with the herd management.
• The herd forms part of a 220 hectare mixed enterprise farm

The job

• Regular milking- average 7 days milking a fortnight
• Calving cows; ensuring optimal cow and calf health by following best practice
• Assisting the herd manager in day to day duties
• Youngstock care, feeding and monitoring growth
• Parlour maintenance
• AI and foot trimming experience is preferable but training can and will be provided
• Ability to work on their own and as part of a team
• Attention to detail, high standards of hygiene and time keeping are essential

The Package

• Salary between £30,000 and £35,000 depending on experience
• Accommodation will be included and provided by the farm. Council Tax will also be paid
• 28 days of paid annual leave, the business operates a Nest Pension
• The job is based on average working hours of 55-60 Hours per week, including every other weekend

Location

The Farm is located in North East Essex, 1 mile from Thorpe-le-Soken with a primary school, secondary school and an assortment of shops. Good train links into Colchester and London
