About the Role:

We are a progressive dairy farm milking 520 autumn calving cows twice a day through a 30/60 herringbone parlour with ACRs, ADF and automated drafting. We're looking for an assistant herdsperson to join our team that currently consists of 5 full time members of staff, 3 part time as well as relief milkers. You will be responsible for the health, welfare, and productivity of the herd, working closely with our farm management team to maintain high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily milking and cow care

Monitoring herd health and reporting/treating any issues

Feeding and bedding

Moving fences and setting up grazing paddocks

Assisting with breeding, calving, and calf rearing

Maintaining clean, safe housing and milking facilities

Keeping accurate herd and health records

Contributing to daily farm tasks and jobs

Requirements:

Previous dairy farming experience essential

Knowledge of herd health and nutrition

Reliable and hardworking

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Foot Trimming qualification would be an advantage
