Location: Home-based with some travel

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, working Monday-Friday

About the Role

This isnt a traditional HR job. The People Administrator role is central to building a supportive, agile, and valuesled People function. Youll be handson with the administration that underpins our HR processes, from contracts and onboarding to maintaining accurate records and responding to queries. Youll be the first point of contact for many team members, ensuring they feel supported and valued. This role offers plenty of scope to learn, contribute, and grow, and youll be supported to develop your HR career in a fastmoving and friendly team.

Key Responsibilities

Safety, Welfare & Compliance

  • Monitor and maintain HR records and personnel files, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance.
  • Administer contracts, changes of terms, letters, and righttowork documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure onboarding checks and compliance processes are completed in line with policy.
  • Champion inclusive practices in all administrative processes.

Core HR Advisory Duties

  • Manage the HR shared inbox, responding to firstline queries or escalating where needed.
  • Provide timely and accurate administrative support across the People function.
  • Assist with reporting on HR metrics, producing regular updates for the People Team.
  • Support farewell conversations by capturing key trends and insights for the wider team.

Your Contribution

Own

  • Deliver accurate and efficient HR administration across contracts, letters, and record management.
  • Monitor shared HR communications, ensuring queries are answered or escalated quickly.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding administration, helping managers provide the Best Start Ever for new team members.

Teach

  • Champion our values and standards in every interaction, reinforcing our peoplefirst approach.
  • Support managers and team members in understanding company benefits and processes.

Learn

  • Develop a deep understanding of Student Roost, our People processes, and how HR supports the business.
  • Build knowledge of HR metrics and reporting, sharing insights with the People Team.
  • Take ownership of your learning and development, seeking opportunities to expand your HR knowledge.

Improve

  • Review and challenge current administrative processes, proposing smarter ways to reduce admin and improve team member experiences.
  • Make better use of our People systems, intranet, and communication channels to streamline operations.

Collaborate

  • Work closely with People Advisors and People Partners to support people initiatives and operational excellence.
  • Liaise with managers and team members across the business, building trust and confidence through reliable support.
  • Share ideas and feedback that shape how we grow as an employer and as a team.

Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in an HR/People administration role or similar support capacity.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and processes, with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, able to provide clear and empathetic support.
  • Comfortable managing confidential information and sensitive situations.
