About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Sport and Leisure Facilities Officer to join our team in delivering a safe, high-quality service for users of our Sport and Leisure facilities. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and satisfaction of staff, visitors, and service users, while maintaining the excellent standards our community expects.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all statutory regulations, legislation, and Birmingham City Council safety policies, including risk assessment protocols.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for yourself, colleagues, and the public.
- Keep qualifications current in line with statutory and council requirements.
- Identify and report faults or damage to equipment or building fabric promptly.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and correctly by both staff and service users, following health and safety legislation and guidelines.
- Conduct all duties safely, taking responsibility for your own health, safety, and wellbeing.
- Deliver excellent customer service and promote Customer Service Excellence throughout your work.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and presentation across all facilities.
- Promote and uphold the service's brands, products, and services.
- Present a positive image of the service and maintain strong public relations.
- Support marketing campaigns to promote the service.
- Adhere to and promote the City Council's policies and procedures, including equality of opportunity.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Work honestly, courteously, and to the high standards set out in Birmingham City Council's Code of Conduct.
- Perform routine administrative tasks as required.
- Work evenings and weekends as part of a normal working pattern (no additional remuneration).
- Wear designated uniform and maintain appropriate appearance standards.
About You
- You need to be a qualified Lifeguard
- Committed to maintaining safety and quality standards in a leisure environment.
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to identify and report maintenance issues.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work patterns and locations.
- A responsible and proactive approach to health, safety, and wellbeing.
