Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing personalised care and support to children and young people, ensuring their wellbeing, safety, and development within a nurturing and structured environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and emotional support to children and young people in line with individual care plans.
  • Assist with daily routines and activities, including personal care, education, recreation, and household tasks.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour through encouragement and consistent boundaries.
  • Support children to participate in social and recreational activities, both within the home and in the community.
  • Maintain clear communication with colleagues, families, and professionals to ensure consistency of care.
  • Drive young people to school, appointments, or activities, following all health and safety and safeguarding procedures.
  • Record accurate and detailed daily observations, incident reports, and progress notes in line with organisational procedures.
  • Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive environment that upholds the values of respect, equality, and diversity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working or some knowledge with supporting children and young people, ideally within a residential, childcare, or education setting.
  • Knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to follow and contribute to care plans and risk assessments effectively.
  • Competent IT skills for record-keeping and reporting.
  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude when working with children with diverse needs.
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
  • Hold, be working towards, or willing to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
