Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and diagnostic techniques
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems efficiently
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery as required
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and organisational policies
- Collaborate with team members to optimise maintenance schedules and procedures
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe at all times
Skills
- Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering are desirable
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
