Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and diagnostic techniques
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems efficiently
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery as required
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and organisational policies
  • Collaborate with team members to optimise maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe at all times

Skills

  • Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
  • Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering are desirable
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
