We have an exciting, unique opportunity for a proactive and passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our welcoming and well-established team at Medivet Richmond 24-Hour Hospital.
This is a full-time position, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys the variety that comes with hospital-based nursing. The hours for this position are variable pm or pm shifts) with a fulltime rota that will alternate with the two shifts.
As a busy RCVS-accredited Small Animal Hospital — with additional Emergency and Critical Care accreditation — Richmond offers the ideal setting to deepen your clinical expertise and be part of a team that consistently delivers care to the highest standard.
You'll be supporting a wide variety of cases including:
Inpatient care and monitoring
Nurse consults and clinics
Diagnostic imaging (including ultrasonography and radiography)
Advanced procedures in CT, endoscopy, orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery
Emergency and critical care case management
Our team is known for its warmth, experience, and strong working relationships, with many team members having been with the practice for over a decade.
You'll be joining a skilled group of 7 day vets, 3 night vets, 7 day RVNs, 2 night RVNs, 3 SVNs, 4 VCAs, and 5 CCAs. We're also proud to be a training practice for Student Veterinary Nurses and a graduate vet residency provider — fostering a strong culture of professional growth and mentoring.
The practice is well-equipped with:
CT scanner
Digital radiography and ultrasonography
Endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery
Full in-house laboratory
Laser surgery and MLS laser
Dedicated feline ward and theatre
Staff-only rest and breakout areas
You'll be supported by Branch Partners with advanced certifications in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and pain management and a wealth of experience to learn from, offering an excellent environment for both clinical learning and collaboration.
Based in the heart of South West London, Medivet Richmond is well connected, with easy access to central London, Kew Gardens, Richmond Park, and major routes such as the M3 and M4. Public transport links include nearby mainline rail, Overground, Underground, and bus routes, with free parking just a short walk away.

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:
Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
Deliver patient monitoring and care.
Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
Dispense and check medication.
Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
Your Skills and Experience
RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
