Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for supporting the well-being of our residents. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your supervisory experience and make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to delivering high standards of senior care.

Duties

  • Supervise and support junior care staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with care plans
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
  • Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members
  • Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes or concerns promptly
  • Encourage social engagement and organise activities that promote residents' independence and happiness
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, adhering to legal and organisational standards
  • Support the training and mentoring of new team members to uphold best practices in senior care
  • Drive company vehicles when required for appointments or outings with residents, ensuring safe driving practices at all times

Requirements

  • Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care
  • Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Knowledge of care plans, health & safety regulations, and IT systems used in healthcare settings
  • Valid driving licence with the ability to drive company vehicles safely and responsibly
  • Compassionate approach with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining a caring attitude
  • NVQ level 3 in Health and Social care or equivalent required.

Pay: £14.77 per hour

Expected hours: 42.87 per week
