Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team at a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to senior care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents while working within a supportive and professional environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with relevant experience in supervising and delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised care to residents in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
  • Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment and ensuring high standards of care delivery.
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, promoting independence where possible.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to residents' health, wellbeing, and progress using IT systems efficiently.
  • Lead by example in adhering to health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and infection control procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, their families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Organise and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development activities.
  • Contribute to the development and review of individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.

Qualifications

Must have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

  • Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care.
  • Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Driving licence is preferred for roles involving travel between multiple sites or community visits.
  • Knowledge of care planning processes and IT systems used within healthcare settings.
  • Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting the wellbeing of older adults.
