FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING MANAGER - PERMANENT - £70K + BONUS - HYBRID - BIRMINGHAM

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong, detail-driven accountant to take ownership of the financial reporting and control framework within a dynamic, fast-paced organisation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of statutory and management accounts, ensuring full compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Oversee the audit process as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Champion process improvements to strengthen controls, accuracy, and efficiency across finance.
  • Support tax compliance and planning to meet legislative requirements.
  • Conduct thorough balance sheet reviews and resolve variances.
  • Ensure correct revenue recognition and reporting across multiple business units.
  • Produce comprehensive reporting packs and deliver clear analysis for senior leadership and the board.
  • Lead the consolidation of management accounts and oversee cash flow forecasting.
  • Own quarterly VAT submissions and maintain an accurate fixed asset register.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong technical and reporting expertise.
  • Experienced in financial controls, audit, and compliance.
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to driving continuous improvement.
