Care Home Senior Support Worker

Location: Walton-on-Thames, Surrey

Pay: £13.60 per hour

Type: Permanent

Shift: Nights

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our care team. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality care, supporting residents' daily needs, and leading a team of care staff to ensure excellent service at all times. This role involves supervising and mentoring care assistants, contributing to care plans, and ensuring a safe, supportive, and person-centred environment for residents.

Reports to: Home Manager / Deputy Manager / Nurse

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents.
  • Lead and support care staff during night shifts to ensure consistent care delivery.
  • Conduct supervisions, appraisals, and coaching sessions for team members.
  • Assist in care planning, record-keeping, and documentation in line with regulations.
  • Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing for all residents.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, and external professionals.
  • Ensure the care home operates in line with health and safety and CQC standards.

Skills and Attributes

  • Proven experience in a senior care or team leader role.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and patient nature.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Education and Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or currently working towards this qualification).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £13.60 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week
