Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all dishes are presented attractively and served at the appropriate temperature
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation and ordering as needed
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent service and optimise kitchen operations
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist in menu planning and development, offering creative suggestions for new dishes
- Serve food to customers when required, maintaining professionalism and efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Previous experience in meal preparation, culinary arts, or kitchen operations is highly desirable
- Knowledge of restaurant service procedures is advantageous
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends or evenings if required
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant professional training is preferred
