Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for culinary excellence and a strong background in food production and preparation. As a Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Your leadership skills will be essential in fostering a positive team environment while delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and cooking processes.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
  • Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and restaurant policies.
  • Monitor kitchen performance, providing feedback to team members to enhance productivity and quality.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef within a busy restaurant environment.
  • Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management.
  • Extensive knowledge of food production techniques and culinary practices.
  • Excellent cooking skills with an emphasis on food preparation and presentation.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
