Birmingham B NU, United Kingdom NCASS Full time

NCASS (The Nationwide Caterers Association) is a membership organisation that supports small independent hospitality businesses across the UK.

We are looking for full time Marketing Executive to join our in-house Marketing team. You must have the right to work in the UK.

Working at NCASS

We work on a hybrid model, typically spending around 60% of our time in the office and 40% working from home. Our Kings Norton (Birmingham) office is a bit of a hidden gem - surrounded by greenery with canal walks nearby, a small lake and plenty of parking. Inside, we've got a bright, spacious workspace plus a communal area for lunches, complete with a pool table and PlayStation for a bit of friendly competition.

Our culture is built around our values: We are passionate. We are a community. We are supportive. We have integrity. We are continuously improving. They're not just words on a wall (although, we do have them on the wall) — they shape how we work together and how we support our members every day.

About Our Business

For over 30 years, NCASS has been the UK's only specialist organisation dedicated to supporting independent food and drink businesses. From street food traders and event caterers to cafés, pubs and restaurants, we help our members run safe, legal and profitable businesses.

We're a small business doing big things, with a passionate team that's making a real difference in independent hospitality.

About the Role

We're looking for a proactive, creative and hands-on Marketing Executive to join our team. This is a broad, generalist role where you'll plan, create and deliver marketing campaigns across multiple channels to drive awareness, engagement and growth.

This is a get stuck in and get things done role. We're a small, close-knit team that works collaboratively. There are no silos or pigeonholes here - everyone contributes ideas, rolls up their sleeves and helps bring projects to life and take down that task-list.

You'll have real ownership from start to finish. If you spot an opportunity, whether it's a content idea, campaign tweak or way to generate more leads, you'll be encouraged to propose it, create it, publish it, measure it, tweak it and improve it. We give our team the tools, trust and autonomy to make things happen quickly.

You'll work within a supportive in-house marketing team made up of a Marketing Director, a Head of Marketing & Communications, two Designers and a Content Manager, while collaborating closely with the Membership, Partnerships, Admin and Tech teams. You'll also work with our industry partners and wider network to deliver joint campaigns and support our Head of Marketing in creating value across these relationships.

Typical projects include developing membership campaigns, driving engagement from our membership base, promoting training courses, creating content for newsletters and social media, and supporting launches for new digital tools. No two days are the same - one day you'll be writing campaign copy, the next analysing performance data or briefing creative assets.

Our department's goal is to drive new membership and membership renewals via great outreach, education, engagement boosting and showing the value and benefits of membership. Whether that's creating inspirational content, sharing member stories, creating value proving campaigns, creating new online training courses or improving the onboarding journey, it's all done in-house.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help create and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns, including paid social and digital ads.
  • Write and edit engaging content for email, social, website, blogs and print.
  • Build and manage email campaigns in Dotdigital (or similar) including segmentation and reporting.

  • Help manage and grow our social media presence.
  • Work with designers and partners to produce creative assets.
  • Use AI tools to support content creation, analysis and workflow efficiency.
  • Help drive our initiative to use more video across our website and social platforms, creating or supporting the creation of instructional "how to" videos, educational industry content and social media campaigns.

Experience, Skills, Abilities & Knowledge

  • Proven experience in a marketing role - either within an in-house team or an agency. Where you've taken projects from idea to execution and measured the results.
  • Creative problem-solver with the ability to connect ideas, spot opportunities and turn them into actionable marketing activity.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with an eye for detail and an understanding of how to adapt tone and message for different audiences.
  • Strong grasp of digital marketing, from content and email to paid and organic social.
  • Experience with SEO and AEO, with a practical understanding of how to optimise content for both search engines and AI tools.
  • Data-driven mindset, confident using analytics to interpret performance, draw insights and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proven campaign planning and delivery experience, coordinating activity across multiple channels and audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as WordPress, Dotdigital (or similar for email marketing, automations and segmentation), Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Google Analytics, and Meta Business Suite / Ads Manager / PPC platforms.
  • Clear communicator and collaborator, able to manage projects, align teams and keep things moving.
  • Highly organised and proactive, comfortable prioritising and managing multiple projects at once.
